Rudfarlington Farm on Wetherby Road leading into Harrogate is quite possibly the ultimate mixed farm. The Reynolds Family moved to Rudfarlington Farm in 1962 and from then onwards the farm has been run as a traditional mixed farm, with sheep and pigs and an arable enterprise consisting of Wheat, Barley, and Oil Seed Rape. In 2001, with the need for diversification within the farming industry a horse livery business was set up, providing stabling for around 40 horses.
In 1999, a Christmas tree grower from the Yorkshire Dales approached me to see if I would sell some of his trees. From this Christmas Trees Harrogate evolved and the rest is history. We have become one of the largest and best suppliers of Christmas trees in the area. We sell cut and pot grown trees in a variety of sizes (from 3ft to 20ft) so there is something to suit all. For customers ease, telephone orders can be taken and a delivery service is offered.
Christmas trees have become an integral part of life on the farm that we wanted to extend the Christmas venture to beyond just trees. So, in 2016, The Christmas Barn was opened, stocking everything for every taste, to decorate your tree or home.
Rudfarlington Farm sells locally grown potatoes and local free-range eggs all year round. At Christmas time we sell handmade wreaths, made locally in a nearby village.
We’re hard to miss with our iconic illuminated tree. First lit in 2013, the tree has become a local landmark, signifying to all passers by that Christmas is on its way.
Since opening in 1999, the Christmas enterprise is a real family affair. Mike’s 3 children take an active role in the Christmas period with extended family also helping in selling the trees or in the shop.
